Inside My Mind

I don’t know who you are.
I don’t know where you came from.
You’re the voice inside my mind,
The one with the evil eye.
You tell me all these lies,
You get my hopes up each time.

I always come crashing back down.
I don’t know why I listen.
Somehow you get inside,
And take your sweet old time,
Creeping around inside my mind.

I don’t know who you are.
I don’t know where you came from.
You took your place inside my heart,
And made yourself a home.
I didn’t let you in,
You just took over control.

You input these thoughts in me.
These thoughts I can’t control.
The people I love,
And the people I hate,
You don’t discriminate.
You have your views,
And you have you opinions,
You’re quite quick to share them.

I don’t know who you are.
I don’t know where you came from.
But deep inside,
I hear all these lies,
Of a world you solely created.
A falsehood upon reality,
Something you wish were true,
But in this world there’s nothing real,
Nothing quite like you.

Wherever you came from,
Wherever you go,
You were apart of me,
But now it’s time to let go.
To be free of you,
And all your petty little lies.
I’m tired of this game you play.
I’m tired of how you try.

You think you’ll get inside my mind,
And take over who I am.
You think you’ll be a demon,
And take over command.
But this is my life,
And this is my body,
You’re not welcome here.
So take your thing and move along,
To someone more like you.

Maybe one day a time will come,
When you’ll find some poor dear,
Who will welcome you with open arms,
And embrace all that you do.
But that person isn’t me,
And your home is not here.

I don’t know who you are.
I don’t know where you came from.
But this life to me is precious.
You should move on with your own.
Create your own path.
Don’t try to alter mine.
I’m set in stone with what I do,
It’s got nothing to do with you.

So say goodbye to all you’ve seen,
And let go of all you’ve heard.
Your time here is no more.
It’s time to move on,
To a world all on your own.
